Mrs. Mary Jane Robinson was born in Hocking County, Ohio, Nov. 27, 1833 and died in this city July 5, 1918, aged 85 years, seven months and eight days.
She came with her parents to Illinois when she was a young girl and spent the remainder of her life in this vicinity. She was married to Allen Walter, December, 1853. To this union was born 11 children, three of whom died in infancy. Mr. Walter died January 4, 1879. She was married to Tobias Robinson of Wenona, in 1894, who died in 1904. During her second marriage she resided in Wenona. She is survived by eight children: Mrs. John Helm, of Lacon, Ill., Mrs. Henry Jacobs, Streator; John of Streator; Henry of Brookfield, Mo., Wesley, Streator; McClellan of Carlock; Sherman of Holden, Mo.; Joseph of Streator; also two brothers and one sister, Mrs. Phoebe Hissel, Garnett, Kan.; Samuel Defenbaugh of Magnolia, Ill., and Ezra Defenbaugh, Garnett, Kansas.
She had been in declining health for several years. She was of a bright and happy disposition and her memory will be most precious, not only to her children, but also a large circle of friends.
She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church of this city and with confident trust in her Saviour she entered the dark valley of death, knowing that He would give unto her a crown of everlasting life.
The funeral services were held from the First Methodist Episcopal Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by her pastor, Dr. S.P. Archer. The interment was made in Moon Cemetery. Parents: Abraham DEFENBAUGH and Keziah WEAVER.

---Nelson Defenbaugh, of Reading, died last night at ten o'clock of heart disease, aged about forty-four years. The funeral will take place from his late residence tomorrow afternoon. Mr. Defenbaugh leaves a wife and eight children. With the exception of a few years out west Mr. Defenbaugh has resided in Reading township for thirty-two years, and has many warm friends who sympathize with his relatives in his loss.
