On July 24, 1880, a petition was filed by Zachariah N. Macklin stating that he has the legal right to one undivided fourteenth of 169 1/4 acres of land in Salt Creek Township. Further stated that George S. Morgan 1/7th, Mary Morgan 1/7th, Ellen Hurdle the wife of George W. Hurdle 1/7th, Elizabeth Krieder the wife of Peter Krieder of Hocking Co., Ohio 1/7th, Daniel J. Morgan and his wife Mollie Morgan 1/7th, Benoni Macklin and Sarah Macklin his wife 1/14th, Catherine Grier and his wife of Solomon Grier of Tuscarawas Co., Ohio 1/7th, and George S. Morgan the administrator of Zachariah N. Morgan decd. are tenants in common with the petitioner. On December 27, 1880 the land was sold for $33 per acre but was objected to by the parties in this case as too low. They were overruled and the sale stood. A list of distribution in on page 398. No mention of the relationships of the Macklins. The description of the land mentions several of the named partied owning adjoining lands and this piece could have been part of a previous partition preceedings.
